Our Approach

We work with individuals and couples of all genders, orientations, and identities. We are sex-positive providers meaning we don’t judge any sexual interest or lifestyle.  Our goal is to create a safe and supportive environment where clients create their own journey to a healthy, sexual relationship with themselves and others.

Therapy is a personal journey for self-growth and self-improvement. We don’t put a time frame on one's own journey to self-growth though suggest regular sessions for the greatest benefit to change.

We believe in a collaborative approach to therapy. At times, one's sexual health is intertwined with other areas of their health including anxiety, depression, or medical conditions. Therefore, we are happy to assist with other mental health concerns in conjunction with your sexual health. If additional medical services are needed in order for you to meet your goals, We are happy to connect you with other professionals.

Women's

Issues

It's hard being a woman in today's society! Do you feel you've lost your identity due to life's many demands? Are you struggling to please everyone and forgetting about yourself? Have you lost enjoyment in your social, work, and family lives? Do you want to explore your sexual identity though you feel judged by others? If you said "yes" to any of the above, then you're not alone! Many women struggle with creating a balanced and healthy life. Courtney wants to help you through that journey.

Erectile Dysfunction

Sex starts in the brain! When our brain begins to worry too much, it brings the penis down with it (pun intended). Men of all ages experience erectile dysfunction including an inability to obtain or maintain erection, delayed or premature ejaculation, or loss of sensation during sex. Medical conditions can also impact our relationship and penile functioning. Please note a medical rule out from a Urologist or other medical professional may be required to rule out medical causes for ED. Contact Courtney today for a brief, phone consult.

Men's Issues

Many men have started individual therapy in order to explore their role in their relationships and families. Just as women receive messages about their role, this happens for men too.

These internalized messages can cause added stress, anxiety, and depression leading to unsatisfaction in relationships, at work, or with family. This can also lead to anger.

Many men have reported talking helpful and report improvement in life satisfaction, relationship quality, and a decrease in anger, anxiety, and depression.

Relationship & Sex Therapy

Does your relationship feel like it's struggling to survive?

Is there constant fighting and a lack of enjoyment in the relationship?

Do you both feel like you're talking to a wall and feel unheard?

Are you and your partner working through an affair?

Relationship and sex therapy can help couples find ways to improve the relationship and create the needed change for an enjoyable and balanced partnership.

Kink/Polly/Fetishes

Do you practice a non-traditional or ethical non-monogamous lifestyle?

Do you enjoy engaging in sexual fetishes?

Courtney has additional training and knowledge to create a safe space for clients to share their lifestyle and preferences. Courtney has worked with couples actively involved in kink or non-monogamy.

She has assisted couples in exploring these lifestyles for their current relationship.

Courtney can also help individuals, couples, or families improve their communication around lifestyle preferences to ensure a healthy and happy relationship.

LGBTQ

Courtney identifies as an Ally to the LGBTQ community.

She also has experience and training working with individuals identifying as LGBTQ including individuals and couples.

Courtney also works with Trans clients including collaboration with other medical professionals during the transition process.

Courtney is a member of the LGBTQ Therapist Resource including a past board member for the organization.

Sexual

Development

Sexuality is a natural part of human development. Studies show sexual behaviors develop in utero. Courtney supports positive sexual education for children in order to prevent shame and guilt around our sexual identities. Courtney has assisted parents and children in communicating about sexual development and educated on important issues of child sexual development. Courtney has also helped adults work through shame and guilt around sex and sexuality.

Compulsive or Problematic Sexual Behaviors

Courtney operates from a sex-positive model. She believes sexual behavior is healthy and a natural part of life. She also recognizes that sexual behaviors can become problematic leading to personal shame and relationship issues.

Courtney will begin by exploring the problematic behavior to gain an understanding of when it began and when it creates problems for the individual or relationship. Based on this conversation, Courtney will explore thoughts on when the behavior is not a problem or how it would not be a problem for the individual and/or the relationship. Finally, Courtney will help you implement change to create a more satisfying experience with sex and remove stress from the self and the relationship.

Premarital Therapy

Courtney also provides pre-marital therapy in order to explore areas of strength and growth as well as create needed skills for a happy marriage. No time limit is provided to pre-marital sessions. Courtney recommends you begin pre-marital sessions once you decide marriage is a path in your relationship.

Discernment Counseling/ Divorce Therapy

Considering divorce? Not sure if that's the right path?

Try Discernment Counseling.

Discernment Counseling is not therapy. This is a short term process of no more than six sessions. The goal of Discernment Counseling is to help each partner decide whether they want to divorce or work on the relationship.

The first session is 2- 2.5 hours. The cost is $300. The first part of the session is to review the required forms. We will then move into a shared conversation of understanding the outcome of the session and thoughts on what got the relationship to this point.

Courtney will then meet with each partner separately for 30-45 minutes.

Finally, we come back to explore if each partner has made a decision and explore if another session is required.

Divorce Therapy

If there is a mutual decision to divorce, Courtney is happy to work with a couple to start the "uncoupling" process of the relationship. The goal of these sessions is to facilitate a productive conversation around needs and expectations. Please note that Courtney can not provide any legal advice and is not a mediator. Courtney can provide referrals for these services.
